Yes, you can put a passcode on the ipad 2. Both the numerical one (one with numbers) and the keyboard one (where you type in a message). The keyboard one does look pretty sweet as it looks black, glassy, and shiny... you will still have to slide to unlock it and then a keypad/keyboard will pop up in the middle of your screen. To put it on the message type, you go to set the passcode then turn "simple passcode" OFF. Hope this helped.
