Download and install Greenshot http://sourceforge.net/projects/greenshot/ (it's not perfect but it is free)
After you install it, there should be a new icon in the system tray - usually near the clock on the taskbar. ?Right-click on it for options. ?You probably want 'Capture Full Screen'

You can take a screenshot with your Sony VAIO laptop in one easy step. Simply press the Windows Logo key and the Print Screen key at the same time. Your screenshot will automatically save to the Screenshots folder in the Pictures library of your laptop.

Press the Print Screen key and youu will get the full screen screenshot of the contents of the screen saved to the clipboard(Windows.) Going to a program that does graphics(many freely available) and and pressing Ctrl + V will paste it there so that it can be saved or manipulated.

On Windows, Press "Print Screen" to save a screenshot to your copy buffer. Then just paste it somewhere. If you do not have a full keyboard (perhaps because you are on a laptop) then you may need to hold the "Fn" (Function) key while you press another with "Print Screen" on it, which will probably be written in blue.
