iPod audio is usually (but not always) in AAC (M4A, M4B, and M4P) or other format not compatible with Windows Movie Maker. If that is the case, you will need to convert the audio/music file into a compatible format (such as .mp3).

You have to make sure to Publish/Finish the Movie in Windows Movie Maker before trying to upload it to your iPod or other portable device.

If the Windows Movie Maker file is still in Project form (MSWMM) it can't be viewed, edited, uploaded, burned, etc., until it is converted to a Standard viewing format (such as .mpg for example).

So, you want to make sure to Publish or Finish the Movie in Windows Movie Maker first. Then you should be able to upload it to your portable device using iTunes.
