You can access the innards of the iMac G5 by removing the back panel. The back panel is held in place by three small screws on the bottom grill underneath the screen. One screw is on the left edge, one on the right and one in the middle. The middle screw is next to the light sensor so make sure you have the right hole. The screws are captive and will not drop out. Once the screws are released the panel can be lifted using the stand to clear the panel from the lugs holding it in place.
