Imrpoved:
Many older computers, and some unusual architectures without AHCI and other power-saving features, do not turn off automatically when you shut down.
When the PC comes to a screen that says 'It is now safe to turn off your computer', a screen most users no longer see, you must press and hold the power button until the computer is off.
This usually takes 10-15 seconds, just hold it until it is off.
If, after a full minute, the computer is still on? This indicates a hardware problem. Please see a computer technician for repair.
turn it off... then turn it on again.
omg, your going to be online all night. I know the feeling. Try unplugging the computer. If it is a new computer to you, you might try holding the Turn Off button until it shuts down.
computer turn button is located on the cpu or on casing of your cpu by which you can turn off your computer, but it is not a safe way to turn your computer off instead of shut down from the start menu option,
A computer can not turn off by itself. The monitor just turns blank it you leave it. To turn off the computer you have to prees the on button on your computer. If you press the botton on the monitor it is not turning the computer off... just the screen.
There is a computer, but you can't do anything special with it. All you can do is put it in your house and turn it on or off. You can not actually "go on" the computer.
take away the computer or turn off the internet and go to the power sorce and turn off all the electicity in your house
Turn it off.
You turn your computer all the way off and restart it

Turn off the fuse box.
No its all in the day
This is a question that's basically a personal preference issue. Obviously keeping a computer on all day will use more electricity, but starting and stopping a computer all the time can wear out components earlier. Try to aim for a trade off on this, if your not going to be using the computer for awhile, shut it down. If other people (or you) are likely to be on it soon, keep it running. Windows and many other operating systems can be configured to shut off devices that aren't in use (monitor, USB devices, hard drives) or to go into standby to save power when it's not in use.
