How do you unlock the laptop?

You can keep answering a bunch of random passwords. (and if you own the laptop, and you forgot your password, you can make a new one.) or if you know the person who owns the laptop, ask them what the password is.

simple at the login press Ctrl+Alt+Del or like this Ctrl Alt Del if that does not work do a system restore.If your login says this computer is locked and is in use only example-123456789/or an administrator can unlock this computer P.S example-123456789 is your password to log onto your computer.

hye .. i have been experience in this matter few month ago

1) shut down your computer .

2) pull out the battery (not the external battery , the battery i meant which keep your time and other setting while you shut-down.)

3) put it back and restart the computer .. hence you only need to set time and other basic setting again ..

4) im not sure this works for vista or other OS .

This question is a little vague, as there is nothing to assume what type of system you're trying to unlock, hence I shall go through all various types of commonly used computer systems and the unlock procedures for each, hopefully one of these solutions may answer your question.

BIOS

The BIOS is a form of basic computer system to control and interact directly with hardware within your computer, and the common procedure to unlock the BIOS is to either press F3, F10, or DEL, dependant on the motherboard and BIOS manufacturer.

Hints

Usually when you boot your computer you may see at the bottom a couple of instructional messages such as Boot-Options F5 BIOS Del.

This should give you clues on what key is required to load the BIOS.

Windows

Within Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista & 7, the computer system literally is the interface you interact with.

One can assume your either stuck on a lock screen, and usually the procedure taken to unlock the machine is to hold down CTRL + ALT + Delete simultaneously, and enter your Windows Password when prompted (if requested), followed by hitting the enter key.

This should grant you access to the computer system.

Mac

On a Mac, one can assume your locked out on the Welcome Screen, and you may simply unlock it as such by selecting your user, and entering a password when promoted.

Linux

Without GUI, simply enter login followed by your username and password when prompted, this should give you direct access to the computer system. If your account has been locked out, trying logging in as root, if you don't have the details for your root admin. You may be able to reset it, depending on the configuration of your Linux OS.

With GUI (Usually follows the same approach as a Mac or a Windows environment unless your version states specific instructions)
