Creating Acapella's is difficult. There are plug in's that you can get for virtual DJ that allow you to put filters on. Some of the filters will block out the instruments, while others will block out the voices. They don't always do a good job at either so you can tighten it up by adjusting the Hi Med and Lo frequency responses on the main interface. I've seen VDJ run on Mac's and on PC's. Everytime I've seen it on PC, I have seen the PC crash at least once. I cannot say the same for Mac, and still I don't prefer Mac. Virtual DJ can be used to gig with if you have a controller and a laptop specifically designated toward DJing. The controller isn't a must, but it really does add a ton of flexibility. If you are an inexperienced DJ, I would stick with PCDJ, or but an IDJ2 ( by Numark ). You get the same benefits without the extra junk you will never use. However if you are experienced, and have 2 turntable controllers, VDJ is a tough comeptitor to Serato Itch ( or Scratch ). Good Luck.
