A light pen is a computer input device in the form of a light-sensitive wand used in conjunction with a computer's CRT TV set or monitor. It allows the user to point to displayed objects, or draw on the screen, in a similar way to a touch screen but with greater positional accuracy
A light pen operates by detecting the light emitted from a computer screen when activated by a user pressing the pen against the screen. The screen emits electron beams that are picked up by the light pen, allowing the computer to determine the location on the screen that the pen is pointing at.
A light pen works by detecting light emitted by a computer monitor or screen when the pen's tip touches the surface. The pen has a light-sensitive photodiode at the tip, which detects the light and sends a signal back to the computer to identify the pen's position on the screen. This allows users to interact with software by pointing and selecting on the screen.

Light Pen is an input Device.
Light Pen is an input Device.
The principle is the infrared light source that is inside. It takes all of the colors in the spectrum and uses them to make the light work.
A light pen typically contains a light sensor that detects light emitted from a computer screen. When the pen is pressed against the screen, the sensor registers the light and communicates with the computer to determine the pen's position on the screen.
A light pen is a useful device for artists. A photosensitive cell is mounted at it's tip and so it is useful for drawing or any other work but the artist working on it feels freely and can draw as if he's using a sketch pencil used for drawing. So that is how light pen is useful for artists. by r.k (R.I.S)
i think dear it's by..refresh rate of crt..the screen refresh by vertical direction..so light pen can update it's possition..in every..refresh of crt'..but in lcd this is oppisite
The light pen is used to draw objects on a CRT computer screen. They are also used to display objects over computer devices.
