I carried my 2004 CTS back to dealer, they said they had to reset the computer. It made mine change right.
This seems to be pretty unsafe. I wouldn't try doing anything like this while the power is on.
Get Norton anti virus or if that dont work reset your hard drive

I found out the hard way that disconnection of the seat monitoring cables will result in your computer requireing a reset from someone with the proper computer software. This has to be done by the dealer.

You reset the computer with an OBD2 scan tool. Or some times if it is not a hard code by that i mean a real problem you can disconect the batt. for a hour this some times work but the newer cars are harder and harder to do this with
In many cars disconnecting the battery from the car and then reconnecting it after a lengthy period of time 20+ minutes will in many cases reset the computer in the car. However some things in the computer are hard coded so even removing the battery will not reset them. Car service / dealers can usually reset most bits of the car as they have specialist software and computers that they can plug into the car.

i would either: a) if the school do not want you to change anything, leave it as it is, or b) send it to a retailers, or c)if you know a lot about computers, restore the software using an external hard drive and then reset the passwords and admin.
A hard boot can reset a computer's operating system and clear RAM. It should only be used if you cannot complete a manual shut down.
Once you reset your BIOS the computer will just carry on with the default settings, which means if you created a RAID it will no longer read it as one hard drive and instead two.
