They have a different kind of memory they use most often which is mmore instinctive than the brain. They memorize movements, called muscular memory so they can move very rapidly by instinct over established runways. For example, their muscles memorize how many steps they must take before they hit each obstacle etc. when to leap and for how far, since they can barely see (and don't really need to nor have radar like bats)
"Rat" has a short vowel sound. By comparison, "Rate" has a long vowel sound.

The lifespan of a rat is 2 to 3 years on average.

A roof rat can live up to 1,5 year.
Usually yes, but it depends on the size of the rat. My dad has seen a rat about the size of a long plank of wood and opossums are smaller than a long plank of wood, usually a few inches bigger than a regular rat. So usually yes, but unless you happen to see a rat bigger than an opossum, that rat has sure lived for a long time.
It depends on how long each day you talk to it and how often you hand feed it. and if you show care and concern towards it.
start with a good cage for the rat, get rat food and water. remember to take it out of its cage a lot so it doesn't get scared when it needs to. also have a great friendship together.
The lifeSPAN of a rat is normally 2 or 3 years. A rat that is given the best food and care can live as long as 4 years.
