That depends on how many are installed. One used to be standard on the motherboard. Some modern PCs have deleted that port since USB is much easier to use. If your machine has PCI or other expansion card sockets you can buy parallel port expansion cards and add several. It is also possible to add parallel ports using USB to parallel port adapters.
How many do you want?
A device which connects to the computer is called a "peripheral."
One of the major advantages of USB over Serial/Parallel ports is the increase of speed between the device and your computer. Also, USB devices can be chained together so one USB port can be used by many devices. Lastly, USB is considered "hot swappable" - therefore your computer can easily disconnect one device and discover a new one that you have plugged in.
The definition of parallel computing is the processing of data many bits at a time as opposed to serial computing which is the processing of data one bit at a time.
There are lots of jobs in the computer
The difference is that serial transmissions only use 2 wires for transmitting and receiving data, and only 1 for sending or receiving, and can only send one bit at a time. Parallel cables use several wires for data transmission and is much faster than serial thus 8 or more wires are carrying data *parallel* to each other to it's destination. serial data data (8 bits) transmit -----------010101010-----------------> single line to transmit on receive <--------------------------- single line to receive on Parallel data (80 bits) transmit multiple lines simultaneously ---- 010101001-----------> -----------010101010-----------> -----------010101010-----------> -----------010101001-----------> -----------010101010-----------> -----------010101010-----------> -----------010101001-----------> -----------010101010-----------> -----------010101010-----------> -----------010101001----------->
Parallel processing allows the computer to process 2 things at once. However on it's own it doesn't help, computer programs have to be written to use it. Many operating systems are written to take advantage of parallel processing between seperate processes, and some programs are setup to use parallel processing withing their own process.
two
1, (serial means in series therefore in a series only one bit of information passes at a time) - the opposite is 'in parallel'.
Oh, dude, keyboards these days use serial communication. Like, back in the day, parallel keyboards were a thing, but now it's all about that serial connection. So, yeah, if you're talking about modern keyboards, they're serial.
Many titles are only available for the Xbox.
There are many types of guitar controllers available for a computer. The best guitar controller would be hooking up a Guitar Hero controller to one's computer.
Yes, many computer and information technology related (IT) classes are available online. Some of these classes are available at Phoenix.edu, DeVry.edu, Kaplan.edu and numerous others.
