Look at the chart below for some information.

1 bit ( The Smallest unit of storage)

8 bits = 1 byte

1,024 bytes = 1 kilobyte (KB)

8,192 KB = 1 megabyte (MB)

1,024 MB = 1 gigabyte (GB)

1,024 GB = 1 terabyte (TB)

The table makes it quite clear that 3 gigabytes would be (1,024 x 3) 3,072

megabytes.

I ! ;)

Hello, 2GB is 2 "gigabytes". 256MB is 256 "megabytes". 1 "gigabyte" is another way to refer to 1000 "megabytes". So, 2GB is much more than 256MB! Hope that helps you out! Ken Hogan

If 88 MB is used out of 5 gb how many is left?

5 gb= 5*230 bits 88 mb= 88*220 bits Therefore if 88 mb is used out of 5 gb then = 5 gb - 88 mb bits are left = 5*2 30 bits - 88*220 bits = 220(5*210-88) bits = 220(5*1024-88) bits = 220*5032 bits = 5032 mb are left

1000000 bytes equals 1 megabyte yet 1024 megabytes equals 1 gigabyte?

There are two definitions. The official definition says: * 1,000 × 1,000 bytes (B) = 1,000,000 B = 1 megabyte (MB) * 1,000 (MB) = 1 gigabyte (GB). This is the definition used for hard drives, DVDs, networking, and everything else. There is also another definition based on 1024 instead of 1000, so 1,024 "megabytes" are equal to 1 "gigabyte". These are used for memory. These are more correctly referred to with MiB and GiB instead of MB and GB: * 1,024 × 1,024 B = 1,048,576 B = 1 MiB * 1,024 MiB = 1 GiB

How many gigabytes is ten hours thirty minutes of audio?

The storage space per minute varies a lot depending on the quality of the sound; but for a typical MP3, you can calculate about a MB per minute. That would give you about 30 MB for half an hour; in other words, much less than one GB.
