An ATI Linux Driver can be purchased from the AMD website. These drivers are quite expensive and typically cost between $1,600 and $2,000. The exact price will depend on the specifications needed.
Yes, but ATI drivers for Linux aren't really that good, so you might run into performance problems. That is why most Linux guys use nVidia cards.
Neither Linux nor the X Server (Xorg) have built-in drivers, due to the proprietary nature of the card. However, ATI / AMD does make proprietary drivers available for download (link available below).
ATI Radeon is an electronics manufacturer of computer hardware and software, such as video cards and hard drives. An ATI Radeon driver allows the hardware or software to function properly after it is installed. For instance, an ATI Radeon video card may require an appropriate driver to be downloaded before it can function properly.
It is a video graphics driver as far as I know.
The Graphics Card... The Box... An ATI CrossfireX Bridge connecter... maybe some instructions or waranty?
If you have an ATI video card, you do not need an NVIDIA driver. Ubuntu includes a "Restricted Drivers Manager" that will automatically download and install any proprietary drivers it detects your card needs.
It can be done, but, it will cost.
AMD ATI Radeon
Drivers for Intel cards are already bundled into the X server. Drivers for NVIDIA or ATI cards can be downloaded from the company's respective websites.
At Best Buy, one ati Radeon HD Express graphic card costs around seventy dollars. To be more exact, the cost of this card is 67.99 dollars. At Best Buy, when the order is processed, the card will leave the warehouse in around one day.

The software coordinating multiple monitors between the GPU and the OS differs between ATI's driver (where its known as HydraVision) and Nvidia's, (called nView) and both sets of code dislike one another vehemently.... If neither your integrated ATI or discrete Nvidia graphics cards has two monitor outputs, you should exchange the Nvidia card for a comparable model with an ATI GPU. If one of your current GPU's has two monitor outputs, disable the other card, and implement the corresponding multi-monitor mode associated with that graphic driver. ☺
