The full version is about $600. This includes an iLok USB copy protection key. An upgrade from ProTools LE 8 is about $250.00, and an upgrade from M-Powered is about $350.00. The upgrades do not come with a key, which is about $50.00
Yes, as long as you are using full version of Pro Tools, version of 9 or newer.
There is no Pro Tools LE 9.
You can purchase and download a copy at avid.com
Full native version of Pro Tools 9 and newer work with just iLok and without an interface.
not to bash Logic(i'm a Logic Pro 9 user myself), but Pro Tools has been the industry standard for so long that this seems almost like a silly question (considering you are comparing Pro Tools to Logic EXPRESS, which is a slimmed down version of Logic ( or a scaled up version of garage band, however you want to look at it)) Its like comparing a geo to a Ferrari. Go with the Pro Tools 8 :D
See the manual
Upgrade to Pro Tools 9 or newer.
You dont need any interface. PtoTools 9 runs on any audio device, including the built-in sound in you computer.
CMD+Shift+W
You can't. You need to upgrade to Pro Tools 9 or newer.
If you did everything like it says in the manual, it should be ready to go right after you've installed pro tools software and the ilok, and deposited the pro tools license to it.
Yes Versions after 7.4 are compatible with the 32-bit version of Windows Vista. No version is compatible with the 64-bit version. Version 9.0 (the latest one) now requires Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit) and will not run on Windows Vista.
