To use a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD610 as a webcam, you'll need a video capture device that connects the camcorder to your computer via USB or HDMI. First, set your camcorder to the appropriate mode, typically "Play" or "Camera." Then, install any necessary drivers for the capture device and configure your streaming software (like OBS or Zoom) to recognize the camcorder as a video input source. Finally, ensure that the camcorder is powered on and ready to transmit video.

The sony handycam videocamera uses mp4 format, as well as Mpg extensions. However, with an upgrade in software, or various other hacks, it can use FLV and several other file extensions.

USB streaming may work, but is not a feature on the SONY HDR-XR500V. There have been rumors about a firewire port that connects to you computer then you can use it as a webcam possibly. From what I know, it cannot be used as a webcam.

Unfortunately no. You need a TV in to make it work
If Sony Cybershot DSC-S700 has a real-time mode - you can use it as web cam /for sure/.
On my computer you use ArcSoft WebCam companion 2 which is under programs.
The Sony Eye cam is the only one that I've heard of that works
