I have an old compaq labtop. works good and have rescue disk all with Win 98. slow only 40 m ram.would the school system like this for beginning childre ?

Certainly you can contact your school district and offer the donation of your used computer, or contact an electronic recycler, or any non-profit group that might be able to use your computer. I would make sure any of my personal information was deleted first, though.
