Yes 3gb ram is good.Most basic computer tasks may seem to load faster, it is also nice for more advanced users. Just keep in mind if you are running a 32bit system then your computer will only acknowledge 3gb and no more (this is not a issue however as you you need only around 3gb ram for even advanced user applications). 64 bit systems will show more than this.

u could run vista excellently on that much ram and you would have plenty of space t o install on 160 gb although i recommend 500 for videos and what not

Umm no, standard laptop has around 250 gb, i doubt a laptop would even hold simple microsfot/mac software with 3gb. Might be good enough for an mp3 player.

For System 32 it's normal. Not brilliantly fast though.
