yes Sorry, I must disagree. DATA is simply a known quantity or quality of something. Examples are RED, 14, and Kalamazoo. Information is what you have when you examing a piece of data in context, or assemble enough data to arrive at a conclusion. The answer to the question, "What is one of the primary colors?" is RED - that whole structure, the question (context) and the answer (RED) are INFORMATION. It is a subtle, yet important difference. DATA is meaningless without context. Information (to a certain extent) is meaningless without Knowledge (what to DO with that information.)
is data different from information?
Differentiate shape data for information?
The difference between data and information is that one is spelt incorrectly.
data is raw. It is the collection of facts, figures which in itself do not provide any useful or meaningful context. Data when processed becomes information. it is information and not the data which is useful for managers. For example, age of all personnel working in an organisation is Data, while, average age is information.
Information on online data recovery can be found from many different resources. Some websites with this information include Acronis and Partition Guru.
Ans.The data-processing cycle describes how data is processed into information by the computer. The input stage is the first stage of the data-processing cycle. Data is collected and entered into the computer. In the processing stage, the computer converts data into information according to given instructions. After processing, the information is presented to users in the output stage. Information is stored on different types of media in the storage stage. The stored information can be used later for a different data processing cycle. In this way, the data- processing cycle continues.
Although the terms information and data are used interchangeably, they are different things. Data is what is entered into a database, like names or dates of birth or salaries etc. Information is data that has been processed. So given the data just mentioned, the amount of names, or who was born in a particular month or the average salary, would all be information. Information is what can be extracted from data. Once you have data, you can extract lots of information from that data.
Jump or flash drives store data in a solid state. This is different that a magnetic drives that store information in a different manner.
There are many different types of data jobs but they all require inputting data. This can include case numbers, medical history, client information, company information, etc.
Data inconsistency exists when different and conflicting versions of the same data appear in different places. Data inconsistency creates unreliable information, because it will be difficult to determine which version of the information is correct. (It's difficult to make correct - and timely - decisions if those decisions are based on conflicting information.) Data inconsistency is likely to occur when there is data redundancy. Data redundancy occurs when the data file/database file contains redundant - unnecessarily duplicated - data. That's why one major goal of good database design is to eliminate data redundancy.
I try to answer as simple as people can understand. Island Of Information means the same data (such scattered data locations) separated at the different places. Data Anomaly caused by Island Of Information. We can say that Data Anomaly is something wrong with the data or information. Some examples are Modification Anomalies(data cannot be deleted), Insertion Anomalies(data cannot be inserted) and Deletion Anomalies(data cannot be deleted).
Data is, basically, information. Armed with that knowledge, you can probably either answer your own second question or see how silly it is.
