You can try it with Crossover, or virtualization but that will only run the steam app. To actually game you are going to need to dual boot with boot camp into an XP, Vista, or Windows 7 partition.

I know for sure that TF2 works for mac, but I'm pretty sure you need steam for Gary's Mod, and steam is only for PC. Although, if you really want it you could install Windows on your mac with "Bootcamp", or download steam with "Cross-Over Games" which are both available for download at the Apple website. Just so you know, you need an Intel based Mac to install "Bootcamp" and "Cross-Over Games"... Hope that helps.
