The simple answer is NO....IT CANNOT BE DONE DIRECTLY.......THERE IS NO port on the Sonyhandycam 560x to allow this. Sopny realy left us hanging here when they developed this product without any foresight of the next generation camera ( which they had already developed).......DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME....IF you find a company that can convert your tapes to DVDV or digital files do it.
The 560x series designed by sir hendy. These are usually around a 56 inch circumference and a chrome colour. They are a 15 watt and sometimes go up to 25 watts. The ford explorer, however is an exception since its a mega 65watts!
Any compatible USB or Serial external CD-ROM drive should do good justice. If your ThinkPad supports SCSI interface and has a SCSI connector you can get a SCSI external drive. I would recommend Sony or Creative CD-ROM drive.
There are a number of great features on the Sony HD Handycam. Some of the many outstanding features of this camcorder include face detection, high zoom, quick auto focus, optical steady shot and full high definition.
