To unhide files after a System Fix virus infection, first, ensure that your antivirus software has fully scanned and cleaned your system. Next, open the Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command: attrib -h -r -s /s /d *.*
in the directory where your files are located. This command removes the hidden, read-only, and system attributes from all files and folders. Finally, check your file explorer settings to ensure hidden files are set to be visible.
Yes, some antivirus softwares delete infected system files which they cannot repair. After which windows cannot starts.
Unfortanetly you can't restore deleted system files. You can only delet files that you created. I expect that you may be experiencing problems with your computer because system files control how the computer works. For the infected system file I would get the newest version of Norton Antivirus because it automatically will delet any viruses and will restore the infected file or folder. Actually I may have or may not have found a solution to your deletion problem. Get Norton System works which keeps a history of your deletions so you can restore anything that you have deleted on your computer. If neither of these work then you should get a new computer. Don't get angry if you had to pay a large amount of money because when you get a new computer the Norton software won't let you down.
The exact procedure varies depending on the infection. Typically, the computer will be booted into safe mode, which prevents many kinds of malicious programs from running. It is then scanned using antivirus and antimalware software to detect and remove the malicious programs. In some cases, the computer may be so severely infected that this is not possible; as a last resort, files from the infected computer may be backed up to another drive, and the infected computer's hard drive will have to be erased. Then, Windows (or whatever operating system) is reinstalled on the drive. After the backed up files have been scanned on another computer to ensure there are no infected files in the backup, they can be replaced onto the clean computer. (If the files in the backup are damaged or infected and cannot be fixed, those files will also have to be deleted.)
The purpose of quarantining infected items is so that the infected files do not leak the infection into other files; potentially damaging your computer. :)
Yes, your SD card can be infected by the exchange of files between your infected PC and the card.
I had this same problem with a computer at work. AVG 7.0 wouldn't heal the infected files automatically or move them to the Virus Vault. I moved the infected files into the Virus Vault myself. You can do this in AVG. Once in the Vault, you can delete them. Don't delete if they are critical or actual system files. The infected files were simply temporary Internet files, but because they were in Windows\Temporary Internet Files\IE content (Windows98), they read as system files and AVG wouldn't touch them. I ran another couple of scans after doing this and the machine was clear. Hope this helps.
