Rats are social creatures. They love the company of others and often stay in groups. They can form close bonds with their human pet parents if they are socialized. Domesticated rats are born tame but do need to be handled as much as possible when they are young to make sure they are friendly and calm to humans.
Most rats are quiet but some will squeak, grunt and make noises to communicate with their humans. This may be to call attention to something in their cage or just asking for attention.
Dumbo rats are just the same as normal rats, its just their ears look different. They're personalities in no way differ from rats with conventional ears. Though all rats have different personalities, no matter if they are a dumbo or not. Some are playful, some are grumpy and some are sweet natured. I have three rats, one is a dumbo and two are not, and they are all different from each other! So no, Dumbo rats just look different in that their ears are larger and don't stand up as much as normal eared rats. Its up to you to decide if they are cuter or not!
