From a strictly quantitative perspective, computers are better for two reasons.

1. They're fast. Much faster than humans. They can count things faster than we can see them.

2. They don't make mistakes. Human error is common; how often do we fail to carry the ten or just plain make a mistake in addition? Computers don't make those kinds of mistakes... ever. If the computer is designed properly, internal parity checking makes certain that the computer will shut down before it makes a mistake.

3. Everything the computer does is repeatable. It will do the same thing, the same way, every time.

It's all about the internal circuitry; switches, gates, registers, memory... all descriptions of electrical devices that perform their function the same way every time.

Is an input device where it translates binary coded information from the processor into analog information you can understand?

No, an input device is something that carries data into something. In this case, the processor. This incoming information doesn't have to be analog information coming from a human, but it sometimes is. (E.G. a computer mouse, a computer keyboard) It also could be another electronic device interacting with the computer. (E.G. a flash drive, a phone, an mp3 player). For a better way of understanding this, here is how input and output work: Input -> Processor -> Output Keyboard -> Computer -> Monitor
