Types of DIMMs are DDR3 and DDR2 that have 240 pins, DDR DIMMs with 184 pins and SDRAM DIMMs with 168 pins.
LGA 775, also known as Socket T, has 775 pins. It was used primarily for Intel's Pentium 4, Pentium D, and Core 2 processors. The socket design allows for a grid of pins on the motherboard that connect with pads on the processor, enabling proper communication and power delivery.

While 184-pin DIMMs and 168-pin DIMMs are approximately the same size, 184-pin DIMMs have only one notch within the row of pins
The panel involves a motherboard that is connected by pins to the FP connector. The motherboard uses a standard FP connector, therefore, easy to figure out.
The Socket 4 Pentium processor from the early 1990's had 273 pins the socket 5 had 320.

A DIMM is based on two different pin counts. SDRAM has 168 pins and is an earlier generation of RAM. DDR RAM has 184 pins. Both are considered DIMMS.
