To gather passwords from machines running Windows.
If you are running Windows xp mode on Windows 7 professional, ultimate, or enterprise
No. You can install a new version of Windows by running its setup program from within Windows itself, or by booting from the installation media (CD/DVD/USB drive).
You can run a virtual machine under WIN7 and run whatever OS you might need to satisfy Borderlands. Start-->All Programs-->Windows Virtual PC-->Windows Virtual PC or Windows XP Mode. I have several versions of Linux running as virtual machines on my install in addition to WINXP.
This depends on how you want to "connect" them. If you install and configure Samba on the laptop, it can share files with Windows. If you are not interested in sharing files, but just want to control the laptop from within Windows, install an SSH server on the laptop, and connect to it from Windows using puTTY.
If I understand your question correctly, you already have Windows 7 on your PC, and you also want to have Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows 98 running as well. The easiest way to do this would be to install a virtual machine and operating system. I recommend VMWare Player, which is a free virtualizing system which is compatible with just about any "guest" OS. For example, I have two flavors of Linux and Windows 98 running as virtual machines on my XP host machine. Other options would include the Sun VirtualBox, or Microsoft Virtual Server. I think VMWare Player is the easiest and most reliable.
I AM RUNNING WINDOWS 7 when i try to install skype i get There is no disk in drive\device\harddisk\1dr1?
No. If you don't want Windows, then don't install it.
Install A WinXP virtual machine. You can use Paralells or VMWare and install Windows into it. You will then be able to launch UB Funkeys and play it in a window on your Mac...It is really playing in Windows, however it will be running on your mac...We do this today at my house.. Also, you may want to contact Mattel and suggest the make a Mac version of this product.
Nope - they are two entirely different machines, running different operating systems.
You would need to buy Windows XP and install it on your hard drive to replace Windows 7. However there are programs that can run a simulator of XP while running Windows 7.
There are no real risks. That is the beauty of virtual machines.
