It looks like you have western digital Raptor 37GB. There are some new Raptors on the market which you can use. It's Raptor 74Gb, Raptor 150, Raptor X 150. Also there are new versions of Raptor Velociraptor 150 GB and and 300 Gb. Raptor is a very expensive line and might want to have something more affordable, for instance, WD 640 Gb AAKS and so on. Basically you can use almost any hard drive which has SATA interface (WD is good).
PS: Avoid Samsung it might have some problems with the BIOS.
The price range on a SATA II hard drive would be about $40 for 250 GB drive to $70 for a 500 GB drive by Western Digital. The price will increase with larger sizes.
Western digital needs to have no jumper to be by itself on a cable, or bios sometimes shares the sata as ide0 and so change your sata port and enable one as ide and the other channel as sata.
No. IDE Hard Drive cannot be replaced with a Sata Hard Drive because the connectors are different. example. if you have sata hard drive installed on your machine. and you purchase IDE Hard drive. you won't be able to install the IDE hard drive where the Sata hard drive was because the IDE connectors are a different shape and size towards the Sata hard drive connectors.
What I mean, is that I have a Western Digital 300Gb, 2.5" SATA Hard Drive, and I was wondering if I could format that to be recognized as a XBox 360 drive (even if only to the 120Gb "limit").
Some examples of external hard drives are SATA,SSD,sea gate and western digital. These are not able to be downloaded, but can be bought online from electronics stores, or from physical stores.
Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive costs around $79.99 and has tons of space and its from a respectable company.
Any SATA drive will work, that board even has an IDE input so older drives that require a ribbon cable will also still work. But there`s no sense in that, so get a good Western Digital or Seagate SATA II drive and you`re good too go. Motherboards do not care what Brand of drive you install, only how the drive connects to the board, which nowadays the main connector type is the SATA port. The drive will be automatically recognized and initialized once it`s installed, then you just partition (if you wish) and format it.
Yes. But your computer needs to be properly configured for a SATA optical drive. Also, a SATA drive is better than a IDE drive.
A serial hard drive is the same as a SATA hard drive. SATA is Serial ATA, and PATA is Parallel ATA.
a solid state drive is faster than an sata drive...
Yes it is a sata drive. It is a internal hard.
SATA power connector is a type of power cable with which we can provide Disks power from the mother board. SATA Power cables are connected from sata point on motherboard to the drive.
