Having two platforms is another choice; if central files must be extracted and sent to another machine, this system may be beneficial to the company and employees. Employees may receive the files they need for their Windows-based machines by transferring the files from the UNIX-based server to a central Windows-based server. This article will explain how to move files from a UNIX server to a Windows server. The transfer process is simple, but may take some time. It is important to be sure not to delete any files until they transfer. First, the client for network file system, or client for nfs, should be installed, which will permit the Windows computers to access files on the UNIX machine. Activate the UNIX server and log onto it using root permissions. After logging in, initiate the command man exportfs. To do this, type Exportfs-v full_folder_path. Entering this command will make it possible to transfer files from the UNIX server to the Windows computers. Start the Windows server and log on. After successful login, access the start menu.
