The same etiquette you place in a written letter are welcome additions in most emails, Salutations, Text body, and the line to be done. Emails are somewhat less personal (Other people's opinions not mine) and therefore can be a little more to the point.

Addition: Unless the e-mail is to a close friend, you should use standard English and not a lot of the latest buzz-words and 'yoof' styles of speech, so that a potentially unknown reader can understand them.
