The custom built computer will usually have the maximum amount of Random Access Memory installed on the motherboard, a hard disc drive which is very large, and periphreal equipment which is tailored to the users needs. However, a custom built computer does not qualify for any tech support, other than what the builder will offer. Nor is there a warranty, other than what the builder will offer. Software will have to be purchased seperately in most cases, and there are usually no bundles available such as large manufactures offer.
Some things you should know before buying separate parts for your custom build:
Make sure the FSB for the Motherboard match the FSB requirements for the CPU(as well as core2duo, core2quad ect.), and RAM. Ex.: 1333/1066FSB motherboard needs a 1333 or 1066 CPU.
Decide on wether you want a full-sized mtoherboard or a micro. (Amounts of slots available for cards differ between them)
Heres a list of all the parts you would need to make it work:
1. Motherboard
2. CPU
3. RAM
4. Video Card (If you don't want to use motherboard video)
5. Sound Card (if you don't want to use motherboard sound)
6. Hard Drive
7. Case (Full Tower to provide the most room for upgrades)
8. Wireless Card (if you have a wireless router)
9. Power Supply
10. CD/DVD Drive
11. OS Installation Disk

If you mean advantages of someone gaining access to a secure system without being authorized. There is really not benefit to the company, though the hacker may have found security holes in there system it is up to the company to employee him. If they do then there is an advantage. However if they don't more then likely there is no adavntage.
if any computer fails it doesn't affect the entire system
