If you aren't dedicated and a real fighter for what is right in society then you wouldn't fit into this world. The advantages are that you are helping people and if you can help but one person in your career (hopefully more) then you should be proud of yourself. The disadvantages are that there are long hours involved; frustrations regarding the law against abuse, incest, rape, etc., and the reality in the fact you can't win them all (cases.) You'll see some pretty violent things that you would never expect to see. Being A Social Worker can be rewarding if you have the heart and staying power, but the down side is, don't go into expecting to resolve everything all at once. It can be frustrating and at times unrewarding, but if patient, those rewards will come your way. hi dum dum
