I used to be a waitress in high school...you typically start out below minimum wage cause you make tips. In some restaurants you have to split tips between the other waiters and workers... There are a few other position in the restaurant other than waitresses though. I found some information on this website I was looking at, it seems like chefs make the most money in the food service business. I hope this helps you out, but i wouldn't recommend a job in a restaurant!!
