For this computer you can have standard EIDE Harddrives and also can have a serial ata drive. Basically any standard PC harddrive will work in this system. The board only supports up to SATA150 though, so dont waste your money on a SATA300 drive because it will be bottlenecked by the board. You have alot of options. Pretty much every drive at computer sites should work.
One of the best is the Intel D865GVHZ ATX Motherboard w/Pentium 4 2.4GHz CPU.
The Intel D865GVHZ will support a maximum of 2GB of RAM using two DDR400 modules. The motherboard supports LBA48 and includes a SATA controller. The largest IDE drives available are at about 1 TB in size. SATA drive currently reach about 1.5 TB, with larger ones likely in the future.
No, AMD microprocessors do not support Intel motherboards. Each processor type is designed to work with specific motherboard chipsets and sockets, which are not compatible with one another. Therefore, an AMD CPU requires an AMD-compatible motherboard, while an Intel CPU needs an Intel-compatible motherboard.
No.
Not directly. The D845GVSR has no SATA connectors or controllers. A third-party SATA controller can be added through a PCI slot.

Processors don't connect to a motherboard, there are installed in a socket. What determines if a processor is compatible is the type of processor... PGA(AMD most of the time) or LGA(Intel) and the ammount of pins that are on the motherboard/processor.
