The different types of overlock stitches used in sewing are 3-thread overlock, 4-thread overlock, and 5-thread overlock. These stitches are commonly used to finish raw edges, prevent fraying, and create a professional-looking seam in garments.
The types of thread are rayon, polyester, nylon, cotton, metallic, laminate (or flat), and silk threads.
Sewing machine needles come in several different types of packages and types of needles. Needles vary depending on the type of fabric you are sewing. The most common type for cotton thread on cotton fabric runs about $3.00 per package.
The angle of a thread of a screw is an angle between the threads and it is the defining factor for the shape of the screw thread.
Thread take-up refers to the mechanism in a sewing machine that controls the amount of thread released from the spool to create stitches. It adjusts the tension and length of the thread as the needle moves up and down, ensuring even stitching. Proper thread take-up is crucial for achieving consistent stitch quality and preventing issues like thread tangling or breakage. Adjusting it can help accommodate different fabrics and thread types for optimal sewing performance.
Some main types of woven and kitted fabrics are wool, cotton, thread, garment cotton and polyester.
Thread-like tubes are called filaments. These structures can be found in various organisms, such as fungi, bacteria, and some types of algae. Filaments can serve different functions, such as structure, support, or nutrient absorption.
The basic idea of a thread is to be able to program different things that will be executed simultaneously.

A thread gauge is a tool used for identifying the particular thread on a bolt or screw. The gauge will have several blades with saw like teeth of different sizes. You match a particular gauge to the thread which will then tell you what size thread it is. gauges come in various pitches to match different screw threads. UNF, UNC, Whitworth, Metric etc. Each has a different pitch angle and thread per inch or millimetre. An image of a thread gauge can be seen HERE
SAE is American or standard thread and metric is everything else. The size or diameter is different and the pitch of the thread is different also.
