Can be anything from 30k to 100k typically with a big 3pl. If you make more than that, you are either really good, or doing it independantly and doing well.
Anyone can make them. All you need is the parts, a computer with robot programming software, and a way to get the robot's program to its brain.
If you have gone to its individual puffle program thing, and you make it go with you to other places. Then it should follow you automatically anywhere until you make it stop.
In order to make a large program more manageable, it is convenient to identify and isolate specific tasks that a program performs and to separate out those tasks into functions. These functions are used/invoked as needed by the main part of the program. They can also be invoked by other functions. Often a program will perform the same task in different parts of the program. Using a function to perform the task and invoking the function from the different parts of the program means that only one copy of the code is needed. This helps reduce the size of the program.

A program is something which delivers a massive piece of functionality (like say Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport). Within this program will be a large number of individual projects each of which will deliver a specific piece of the functionality. When all these projects have delivered, all their pieces will make the big deliverable. The art of the Program Manager is to make all the individual projects come together at times to suit each other, and also to meet the big deliverable. Imagine how complex this will have been on the Terminal 5 program!
Ford Motor Company hires individual companies to make very specific parts and components for their vehicles. I used to work for a Ford dealership in Austin, TX; and I was amazed at looking at each individual part box to see that these parts were made both in the US and throughout the world. From what I have seen first hand, Ford contracts with companies to make each individual part for them with the Ford brand stamped on the part. Ford does its very own quality control for each company that makes their parts. Sometimes Ford itself makes their own parts. It is probably a 50/50, but Ford parts get made in Japan, USA, Mexico are some of the main countries that crank out these parts. Many parts that are made in Japan are electronic modules and controls. Many parts that are made in the US and Mexico are body and collision parts.
Because you're independantly learning and your tutor can keep an eye on you and make sure you understand everything. Thing is, tuition is usually quite expensive.
