To install the sound recorder in Windows XP you must have the Original Windows XP installation disc.

Step 1. Insert disc into your disc drive
Step 2. Open a command prompt by typing "cmd" (no quotes) into the run box.
Step 3. Navigate to the Disc \ i386 sub-directory... (example D:\I386) then press enter
Step 4. type (no quotes): "expand sndrec32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\sndrec32.exe"

That should do it! Sound Recorder is now located in C:\Windows\System32\sndrec32.exe
