the computer fan is always on, as long as the computer system is on, to prevent excess heat from destroying the prosessor. so on that note, i will tha one thing that could damage the fan, is when there is any thing on it motion path, such that it can couse a break down on the fan but, it's not a garranty that the fan will be damage.
your computer could demage when you block the fan under it,and when you use your computer.

A socket fan is used to cool the central processing unit (CPU) of a computer. It helps prevent the CPU from overheating, which can cause performance issues or damage to the system. By maintaining a stable temperature, the socket fan allows the CPU to operate efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall performance of the computer system.
Basically what a computer fan do is pull the heat from the heatsink that is connectted to the CPU and escorts it out of the computer,, because if the CPU gets to hot then the computer just stop working.
Your computer is damage by EXISTING. Air currents and stuff. But aside from existing, using your computer at all also damages it. Most computers can run minecraft without TOO much damage (Heat generated by procesers), but computers that are older or have no fan will heat up more. Use an external fan and make sure to clean out your computer every few months to remove dust that builds up and prevents circulation.
An exhaust fan is a system fan that blows (usually warm) air out of the computer.
The computer's fan does nothing more than help cool the computer's internals. The fan will not have any impact on the speed of the computer if it is working properly.
If the fan is not working - your computer is more than likely to be overheating - causing the processors to run slowly. Without being fixed, the lack of cool airflow from the fan will cause irreparable (and thus expensive) damage to your computer.
Trace damage in a computer refers to the damage caused on the lines interconnecting all the components on the circuit board. The trace damage will cause your computer not to function properly.
A computer fan is any fan inside, or attached to, a computer case used for active cooling. Hope its helps :)
