That depends on what you want to show from your data. There is a number of different types of chart that you can use, even for just one particular set of data. Each situation is different, so it up to you what chart you want. Some charts only suit certain types of data, like X Y charts or Pie Charts.
No it is not true. Many charts can use more than one set of data although a pie chart is limited to one set of data.
A chart is graphical, like a pie chart or a bar chart or a column chart. A table is an organised set of figures laid out in a table. You might use figures in the table to make a chart.
It does not always know. It will depend on the data you are using and how you have it set up. Sometimes a title is not put onto the chart.
If it is a small chart for a simple set of figures, then an embedded chart can often be more convenient than switching from the sheet to a chart sheet. You might use it as a temporary stage to see how a chart looks and to get the data correct and then later move it to its own chart sheet.
you would use it when interpreting data
You can use a embedded chart or use a chart with a data table attached to it.
Normally you would start by selecting the data you want to chart. Then you would start the Chart Wizard. It has four steps. Step one is to choose the type of chart. Step two is to choose the source data, which you will have already done if you did select the data before starting the Chart Wizard. You can make any changes to the selection at this step. Step three allows you to set various options. These can be set for the titles, the axes, the gridlines, legends, data labels and the data table. The fourth and final step is to set a location for the chart. This can be embedded in the current worksheet or you can have it in a chart sheet of its own.
When the data consist of frequency for a set of qualitative categories, or when there are a small number of discrete quantitative categories or even a set of classes of equal width.
To set up a chart sheet in Excel, select your data, insert a chart, right-click it, choose Move Chart, and select New Sheet. Done! Your chart is now on its own sheet.
column chart
use a bar chart when comparing data. for example, you would use a bar chart to compare climates of different cities.
You can use a stacked bar chart.
