There isn't a Colombian "red-tailed boa" (red-tailed boa was adopted for all similar looking boas to make them more appealing to customers, "true" red tails are called BCC or Boa constrictor constrictor the most common boa constrictor in the pet trade is called BCI or Boa constrictor imperator. BCC's have MUCH brighter tails), but the longest boa constrictor I've heard of was 12.5 ft. I'm not sure if she was a Colombian boa constrictor or not.
An Anaconda snake (also a constrictor) is bigger than a boa constrictor.
The poem "Boa Constrictor" by Shel Silverstein uses repetition as a poetic device. The repetition of the phrase "Oh no, it's up my toe" creates a sense of rhythm and humor throughout the poem.
They like to eat little children in the middle of the night!! I know this because my sister was eaten. We woke up and went into her room. There was here head and a fat boa constrictor. dANG CAPS DONT WORK
A boa constrictor generally lives anywhere from 20-30 years, though some have lived up to 40. It depends on their environment.
A boa constrictor is a very large snake. The average weight of a boa constrictor is 50 pounds with a length of 8-10 feet long.
Constrictor- yes, but they have to be handled carefully with others around. they have a tendency to coil and if you let them go too far, they will kill you.
Boa Constrictors - like other snakes - are meat-eaters. Their diet consists of mice & small rats when the snakes are young, up to large rabbits as they achieve adult size.
Sara Cynthia, Sylvia Stout, The Unicorn, Boa Constrictor are a few. Google his name and you'll come up with tons of stuff.
Significantly smaller than anacondas, boas can grow up to 13 feet long and weigh more than 100 pounds. Boas are about 2 feet long when they are born and grow continually throughout their 25 to 30-year lifespan. A teenage boa is about 4-6 feet weighing about 45 poundsFirst off, most boas are not going to get 13 ft. An anaconda will commonly get larger than that, though. A boa constrictor female is normally 8-10 ft, occasionally getting as big as 12 ft. This is usually due to power feeding and shortens the snake's lifespan. Their first year, BCC's (Boa constrictor constricor aka the "true" red tails) will reach 3-4 ft. BCI's (Boa constrictor imperator) will reach 6-7 ft their first year. This is because BCC's cannot handle as large of meals as BCI's, so grow slow but get longer. A boa constrictor should reach sexual maturity at 4-5 years old.
yes it is legal to own a boa constrictor around children. but you do need take into consideration that you do have children around so if you get the snake out you need to watch the snake and make shure it does not go near the children. but that is only for babies and children up to the age of 8. beacause after they have reached 8 they will understand that the snake can kill them and the must not go near it. but when they get to 9 to 14 they will have much more things to do apart form looking into a snakes tank.
8-12 feet but the average is 6 feet longwith females generally being larger in both length and girth than males. As such, the average size of a mature female boa is between 7–10 feet (2.1–3.0 m), whilst it is 6–8 feet (1.8–2.4 m) for the males.[6] It is common for female individuals to exceed 10 feet (3.0 m), particularly in captivity, where lengths of up to 12 feet (3.7 m) or even 14 feet (4.3 m) can be seen.[7] A report of a Boa constrictor growing up to 18.5 feet (5.6 m) was later found to be a misidentified green anaconda.[8]
