Traceroute is the program that shows you the route (or hops) over the network between two systems, listing all the intermediate routers a connection must pass through to get to its destination.
The command used will depend on the OS you're using.
If you're on a Unix system, including Mac OS X, run a traceroute at the command line like this:
traceroute server.name
If you're using Windows, the command is called tracert. Open a DOS window and enter the command:
tracert server.name
NOTE:
(sever.name should be either the computer name, IP address or domain name)
tracert command
tracert host.com
Hop Count refers to the number of intermediary devices that data packets must pass through to reach their destination. It is commonly used in routing algorithms to determine the shortest path between source and destination nodes. Metrics, on the other hand, are quantitative measures used to evaluate network performance, such as latency, throughput, or packet loss. Hop Count can be a metric in itself, as it gives an indication of network efficiency and can impact overall performance.
rip hop count is 15, if it reaches 16 it indicates network is unreachable

Start jumping and your bin pet will copy you, to get him or her on your back you need to keep on making him jump, when he has learned the trick, call him over to you and choose the HOP ON command. You will say "[BINPETNAME] HOP ON!" and he or she will hop on, it may take several attempts. To get them off, click your bin pet once more and select the same icon for the HOP ON command, you will say "[BINPETNAME] HOP OFF!"
