These are computer measurements of the size of a folder, file, hard drive, etc.

  • A bit is a binary digit.
  • A byte is 8 bits.
  • A kilobyte (kB) is 1,000 bytes.
  • A megabyte (MB) is 1,000,000 bytes.

It also makes a difference if the "B" is in capital or small letters.

A capitalized B means bytes, a small b means bits, so MB = megabytes and Mb = megabits.
