I'd try replacing the water with milk. It needs protein and fats as well as carbs. Don't add salt! You'll dehydrate the poor thing!

When I had very young cats, I mixed milk, egg and sugar. As they got a bit older, I would add in some ground up cat food, you could add some mouse food.
