A "cache" in computer terms is similar to a "cache" of something in real life- it is a place where you would store something valuable to you for use at a specific time. Though the analogy might sound a little silly, let's say that you have a house at point A and a job and point B and you know that sometime you might need important equipment at point B, but not every day. Rather than haul all your supplies all the way from home every time you need them, it is much easier to find a place between work and home where you can store what you need for quick access. A computer cache does the same thing. The computer will load up and store the information that you use most frequently in a special place so that every time you need it, the computer doesn't have to take a long time to retrieve the information. It's like the computer's special notepad on which it stores the notes that you frequently use.

What is a cached page?

simply a cached page is like a page stored in faster memory rather than on hard disk. www.heightz.blogspot.com A cached page doesn't have to be in memory, a cached page can simply mean that the majority of the content on the page is stored on your harddrive for faster retreival. No, "cached" does not mean virus. Caching refers to the temporary storage of data to speed up future access to that data, often used by browsers and applications. While malware can be cached, the term itself simply describes a data management technique and does not imply any malicious activity.
