For Computers worldwide:If the file does not have a file extension on it when you click/double click it will no-longer open with it's default/correct program, and it will ask you to manually choose a program to open it with.
For example if I changed "mytext.txt" (Opens in NotePad) to "mytext" it will not recognise a default program to open it in and I would have to choose to open it in NotePad manually.
This does not damage your file if done but opening the file with the wrong program will cause problems.
