What happens in a document when the cut commend is

The command commonly used in conjunction with cut or copy is "paste." It allows users to insert the previously cut or copied content into a specified location in a document or application. This functionality enables efficient transfer of text, images, or other data between different areas or applications.

To cut a cell or range of cells in Excel, you can use the "Cut" function by selecting the cell or range of cells you want to cut, then either right-click and select "Cut" or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+X.
Cut could be interpreted in different ways. The cut command will cut in a cell in terms of removing data to put it somewhere else. A merged cell can be split by using the split command. It is also possible to cut data from data in a cell using some of the text functions like MID().
Cut and Paste actions are activated by holding down the Command (cmd) key next to the Space bar. To Cut: Select whatever you want to cut by clicking the mouse button on it and then dragging the mouse to select all that you want. Press the Command key and the X key together to cut the selected item from your document. To Paste: Click wherever you want to insert the item to be pasted and then press the Command key and the V key together and the item will be pasted into the document. Originally the X key was chosen as it could be said to resemble a pair of scissors to cut with and the V key was something pressing down to paste the item.
That's the first step to move the selected text or graphics. To go into a bit more detail, Ctrl-X is the "Cut" command. It erases the selected text, graphics, etc., from the document, and places it in a temporary storage. You can then recover this later - somewhere else in the document - with the "Paste" command (the shortcut is Ctrl-V).
On a Mac nothing happens. Command + X cuts the selected item. On a Windows PC control + x will cut the selected item.
It allows you to select sentences or images in a document. They can then be cut out of the document and pasted to a different location in the same document or a different document.
