Personally I would get it fixed but if money is a problem it shouldn't get worse if you use it carefully.(not bumping into things with it,don't drop it,etc.)
If you are looking for a gadget for photography, go for Nikon D3100. Otherwise, if a laptop is what you need, go for a Macbook. Frankly speaking, these products are totally unrelated. You can take pictures in a Nikon D3100 and transfer them to your Macbook.
