MT202 and MT202COV are financial message types used in the SWIFT network for interbank transfers. MT202 is used for general financial institution transfers, while MT202COV includes additional details related to the underlying customer credit transfer. Key fields in MT202 include the transaction reference number, date, and the sender/receiver’s information. In MT202COV, additional fields provide details about the transaction purpose, amount, and specific instructions regarding the underlying customer transaction.
A record in a database consists of all the data about a particular item or person. Each separate piece of information is a field. For example, if you have a database table with a list of customers the information about each customer would be contained in a record. The individual attributes of the customer - Customer ID Number, Customer Name, Customer Address, Customer City, etc would each be held in a field.
One-to-many RelationshipThis kind of relationship allows one field to be related to many separate fields. For instance, one customer in a database may have multiple orders. Therefore, one field, the customer, will be related to multiple fields, the orders.Many-to-many RelationshipThis kind of relationships allows many fields to be related to many other fields. For instance, an order can contain many products. Also, a single product may be on multiple different orders. In this case, you would have to use a many-to-many relationship.One-to-one RelationshipIn this relationship, one entry in a given field is can only have one related entry in the second field. This can be used for matching customers to other information about that customer, such as phone numbers and mailing information.
A group of associated fields is called a record. Each field within the record stores specific information related to a single entity or object. Together, the fields form a cohesive set of data that represents a complete unit of information.
