Flip4Mac is software that allows Mac users to view/edit Windows Media files in the QuickTime Player. Microsoft stopped developing their Windows Media Player for Macs in 2006 and instead promoted the use of the Flip4Mac software. The basic player plugin for viewing Windows Media files is free but the editing and encoding software needs to be purchased. (See links below)

You will need to download an install the free software Flip4Mac. Click the link for the download.
The Flip4Mac suggestion was correct (See links below) . "Note: This product does not support content that is protected with Windows Media digital rights management (DRM)." If there are DRM controls on the audio book they may not work on the Mac anyway.
You need to add the free Flip4Mac player plugin (See links below) to Quicktime then you can view Windows Media files with the Quicktime player..

Microsoft ceased providing Windows Media Player for Macs in 2003. There is a free WMV Player produced and maintained by Flip4Mac which allows Windows media to be played within the QuickTime player. (See links below)
