1x1 (and its variant onexone,) is an abbreviation for a one-on-one roleplay. That is, a roleplay between just two people.

One-on-one roleplays are more intimate than large group roleplays, but ask more of each person, often requiring people to double, or even triple the number of characters they take control of for the plot.
