There are many choices that you have on buying computer today. It virtually completely depends on your preference. Most of the time I have built my own from parts. They have been more stable than proprietary computers. A forgotten cost however is all the software that comes on the proprietary computers including operating system and other possibly useful programs depending on what you need to do.

In terms of something you can pick up and carry around easily, but will still do anything you throw at it (like modern 3D games), the Alienware M11x always wins.

In terms of THE BEST computer that you can buy and have delivered to your house, the Alienware Area-51 ALX is undisputedly the most powerful - sporting hardware that you can't even get in a mac before anyone brings that up again...

On the other hand, if you mean "what's the best computer in the world ever?" then there are 2 answers, one is the obvious "some government one somewhere" and the other is "some custom-built rig that some really rich guy has put together".

Considering that gaming computers are the best computers money can buy, due to their need for extremely fast response and a lot of memory; the best computer that money can buy would probably be the CyberPower PC Black Pearl.

It depends what you're looking for! Do you want a small laptop you can easily carrry around with you, or a bigger one? Do you want to play games on it? I've always been impressed by Sony's build quality, but they are more expensive then most. The Asus Eee Pad which can convert into a table has been getting good reviews recently.

The very best computer you can buy is any Apple computer. Be it a laptop or a desktop, Apple computers are simply the best you can buy. Dependable, easy to use, rock solid operating system that will rarely give you any problems, very secure, and a computer that simply works day in and day out. I switched from Windows to Apple 5 years ago and have not had one problem with my iMac. Apple provides superior products and their support is rated the best in the business. You will never regret buying an Apple computer.
