It depends what you mean by better. If you purely mean bigger (as in more), then 1Gb is better. However, if you mean reliability, then there is no inherent difference in reliability between sizes, only manufacturer. Western Digital, Samsung and Seagate are 3 reputable manufacturers, but it's best to go by reviews.
